Johns Disposal provides weekly garbage and bi-weekly recycling collections. For more information on these collections, click here. The Village will accept Cardboard and Paper Recycling as well as Drain Oil until further notice.
Cardboard and Paper Collection
The Big Bend Department of Public Works is a collection point for recyclables-specifically cardboard. The DPW has a cardboard recycling dumpster on-site 365 days per year which will accept as much cardboard and paper as you can supply. HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DROP-OFF SITES
Waukesha County operates 4 year-round household hazardous waste (HHW) drop-off sites for county residents and 4 special one-day collections in spring and fall in Brookfield, Delafield, Mukwonago and Oconomowoc. All sites are free to Waukesha County residents with proof of residency e.g. driver’s license, tax bill.You can find additional information by reading the Waukesha County Recycles Hazardous Waste Flyer or by calling 262.896.8300.
Dumpster Days
There is a dumpster located at the municipal garage for village residents to use on designated Saturday Dumpster Days from 7 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from April through September. The dates include:-

Accepted Items: Appliances such as washers and dryers and electronics such as microwaves and computers, TV’s and computer monitors for a fee. (TV’s are $25.00 and computer CRT monitors are $10.00 but no Dumpster card needed).
*You must be a Big Bend resident and have a dump card. Dump cards are $40 Annually or $10 per use and are available at Village Hall.
