download1 During a community meeting held on December 8, 2015, Waukesha County residents were brought up-to-speed with news regarding Recycling within the County…..This meeting yielded GOOD NEWS for the Village in that our recycling went up 20% in 2015 according to the County Report. This is truly great news, but DPW Superintendent, Eric Pedersen, “knows we can do better”. It is up to every citizen to help make Big Bend a success story and to help our environment locally and beyond.

Cardboard and Paper Collection

The Big Bend Department of Public Works is a collection point for recyclables-specifically cardboard. The “DPW” Department has a cardboard recycling dumpster on-site 365 days per year which will accept as much cardboard and paper as you can supply. images Appliance and Electronics Disposal

Appliances can be disposed at Kohne Salvage Co. in Muskego, (262) 679-1135. Wisconsin Communities Recyclor in Waukesha accepts appliances and will also recycle electronics with a free pick up, (262) 522-8112. The following communities accept electronics from all County residents at their recycling drop-off sites: City of Brookfield, City of Oconomowoc, Town of Merton, City of Pewaukee, City of Waukesha and Village of Hartland.
